Whop Treasury: what changes for members and sellers

By Wes Calder · Published 2026-10-06

Whop Treasury lets money sitting in a Whop balance earn a variable yield, up to 6% APY by Whop's figure. Funds are held as a dollar stablecoin and lent out on Aave. It is not FDIC insured and the yield is not guaranteed. It matters most to sellers who keep large balances on Whop.

What changes for members

  • Not only for sellers. Whop says every account now includes Whop Finance, so an individual can hold funds as a stablecoin and earn the same yield.
  • Whop points individuals to the dollar amount at the top right of the site, or Finance in the iOS app. Money can be added by card through MoonPay or from a crypto wallet.
  • It is not a bank account. Whop's own disclaimer says Treasury is not FDIC insured and yield is not promised or guaranteed. It lists lending, infrastructure, market and regulatory risk.

What changes for sellers

  • Idle revenue can earn a yield. With auto-transfer on, sales move into Treasury as they land. There is no lockup and no minimum balance, and funds can be withdrawn when needed.
  • The rate is variable: up to 6% APY by Whop's figure, compounding per second. At that top rate, an example $10,000 left for a full year earns about $600 (our math; the real rate moves).
  • Funds are held as USDT0, Tether's stablecoin tied to the US dollar, and the yield comes from lending on Aave. Gold can also be held; Bitcoin and Ethereum are listed as coming soon.
  • We could not find it on the web. Our test store's balance pages and the audit account's Finance home showed no Treasury tab and no live APY. The only trace was a "Treasury deposit" type in the activity filter. It may sit in the iOS app or behind a step we did not take.
  • The risk sits with you. Whop's disclaimer asks users to deposit only funds they are comfortable holding in a DeFi setting.

What we found

  • Yield on a $1,000 balance held a full year at the top rate (example amount; the rate is variable): $60 (WTJ calculation from F1; math: 6% × 1000)
  • Yield on a $10,000 balance held a full year at the top rate (example amount; the rate is variable): $600 (WTJ calculation from F1; math: 6% × 10000)
