Verified Partners: what changes for members and sellers

By Wes Calder · Published 2026-10-06

Whop added a paid Verified Partner tier to its referral program. For a one-time $199 and a KYC check, partners can set custom fees for businesses they refer and partner with businesses already on Whop once the owner accepts. It matters to referrers and to sellers, who now have a partner request inbox. Members see no change.

What changes for members

  • No change for members. Verified Partners is a tool for people who refer businesses to Whop, and nothing in the member app moves.

What changes for sellers

  • A Verified Partner can offer you a custom Whop fee, within limits Whop sets. Whop's examples: a lower rate in return for a volume target, or a match of the rate your current provider charges.
  • You can now be partnered without signing up through anyone's link. The partner sends a request and nothing changes until the owner accepts. Our test store has this inbox under Settings → Partners, and only owners can respond.
  • An accepted partner can also join your team with read-only access to your earnings. That step is optional.
  • Read any fee change closely. Whop lets a partner set a fee higher as well as lower, and the partner sees how the change moves their own earnings before saving it.
  • If you refer businesses yourself: the tier costs $199 once, needs KYC, and includes a 12-lesson course with quizzes. The commission rates are the same as for any partner: up to 30% of Whop's gross profit on a referral, plus 1% of its ad spend. Whop does not publish its gross profit per sale, so a full break-even cannot be worked out. On the ad side alone, $199 equals the 1% commission on $19,900 of referred ad spend.

What we found

  • Referred ad spend whose 1% ad commission equals the $199 fee: $19,900 (WTJ calculation from F1, F4; math: 199 / 1%)
  • Partner request inbox on our test store (Settings, Partners): Present, no pending requests (WTJ test store capture)
